Weekend Recap: Bubbles and PRs

Like I mentioned on Friday, I had plans to do 15.1 of the CrossFit Open that night. I ended up working late so that didn't happen.

On Saturday, after deciding to do 15.1 on Sunday, I woke up early and headed to CF. My friend Brian was the coach that morning and advised me NOT to do the WOD Rx since I was doing the open the next day. Being the competitive person I am I didn't want to listen to him, but boy am I glad I did. Even scaled this workout was brutal!

I used a 14 lb wall ball but used 26 pounds for the KB portions and 20 pounds for the man makers.

After the WOD I refueled with a quick breakfast, hopped in the shower and got ready for the day.

Josh and I ventured to H Street for our friend Chase's birthday. We met everyone at Biergarten Haus (one of my favorite places in DC) for big beers and soft pretzels.

Later, Josh stayed out, and I headed home so that I could hydrate and get ready for my attempt at 15.1 the next morning. I ate pho and watched Lifetime movies. It was perfect.

On Sunday I hit the gym at 8:30am ready and eager to complete the first WOD of the 2015 Open. I am doing a full recap tomorrow, but it went really well! Thank you to everyone at CFA for all of your encouragement. Couldn't have done it without y'all!

125 lb Clean & Jerk PR

I went home high on life (a great workout will do that to ya), got dolled up, and then jumped on the metro to meet the girls for brunch. It was freezing outside!

Frozen Potomac River

Despite the freezing temps, we had so much fun at brunch and finally celebrated Emily's birthday. She has been a bit preoccupied with a cute little nugget named Alice ;) We toasted to our sweet friend, drank A LOT of bubbly (because our food took forever), and just enjoyed being together. I know I am partial, but I have THE BEST group of girlfriends.

I didn't really like my lunch but it looked pretty :)

That night, after Mass, I sat on the couch and drank wine with this tired little dude while Josh made dinner.

Venison Tacos

Following dinner, I resumed my position on the couch with this snuggle monster. Chasing ice rain all day is exhausting!

How was your weekend?
