Weekend Recap: A Wine Tasting Birthday

Whew! What a weekend! On Friday, I didn't leave y'all with any details because the entire weekend centered around surprising Lanie for her 30th Birthday!

Our friend Alycyn (and my former roomie) flew into town to surprise Lanie at the celebration. Immediately after work, Beth, Alycyn, Emily and I went to get our nails done and have dinner. We have missed Alycyn so much ever since she moved back to Texas, and it was fun to get together just like old times!
First round of Lincoln Park After Dark this season. It is my favorite Fall/Winter nail color.
The next morning I had planned to go workout, but at the last minuted I decided it would be too stressful to fit it in. Thank goodness I made this decision because we were scrambling to make it on time.

Lanie's boyfriend Dave had arranged for a Stretch Hummer to drive us around Virginia Wine Country for a day of wine tasting. We met the driver at 11:30am, and then drove to pick up Lanie, her mom, her BFF Carin, her godmother, and Dave from brunch. When Lanie came out of the restaurant she had no idea what was in-store for her and was completely surprised! Woo hoo! Success!

I know Lanie will do a full recap on her blog so I will just share a million few of my favorite pictures from the day. It was the perfect celebration for one of the best girls I know! We love you Lanie!

This little girl wanted to be in the picture too :)
A birthday serenade at Cobbler Mountain Cellars

At Cobbler Mountain they offer a Cider Tasting along with their Wine Tasting! It is my favorite winery in the area.

Rocking my other vest from the Gap! Like I mentioned on Tuesday, I couldn't pick between the two. But then Gap had great sale so I got both!

Lanie and Pit Bull Dave...He planned a fantastic day!

After a full day of wine country, we arrived back in DC at about 6:30PM. We all kept talking about how much we wanted pizza. So we had the driver drop us off at a restaurant on H-Street. Little did Lanie know, but we were not going to eat pizza...

... we were going to a big party with all of her closest friends! Dave did an incredible job orchestrating the entire day, and Lanie had no clue that she was walking into a big birthday bash!

Couple Lanie's birthday with an insane Aggie victory, and the night turned into a rowdy (and very happy) celebration!

Sunday was spent in recovery mode. Josh made Alycyn and me a huge breakfast. Then we met up with Beth for lunch and some Eastern Market shopping. We dropped by Lanie's before I dropped Alycyn off at the airport, and I spent the rest of the day on the couch watching Lifetime movies. It couldn't have been better after all of the wine excitement from the day before.

Lanie, thank you for being such a wonderful friend. I am so thankful for you, and I know this year is going to be the best one yet! Happy Birthday and Cheers to 30!

How was your weekend?
