Weekend Recap: Sweet Carolyn Bom Bom Bom

What a fun (but indulgent) weekend! I was paying for it at CrossFit this morning, but it was well worth it!

On Friday night our wonderful friends Tim and Melissa treated Josh and I to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, RT's. I have blogged about RT's before. It is a hidden gem in Arlington, VA, and if you love Cajun food then you better get your hiney down there. It is the bomb! We feasted on Oysters Rockefeller, Shrimp and Crab Beignets, Gumbo, Etouffee, Fried Green Tomatoes and two kinds of pie. I left stuffed, tipsy and happy as can be. Thank you Tim and Melissa!

The next morning I had grand plans to go to CF. Yet my night of indulgence kept me in bed, and before I knew it was time to get ready for Beth's Birthday Brunch. The celebration was at Boqueria in Dupont which has an all you can eat and drink brunch on the weekends. Sometimes when restaurants offer a deal like this it is because the food is sub-par. But not at Boqueria. It is excellent! Definitely add it to your DC food list.

Josh and I brought along a new friend for Beth, a pinata she named Carolyn. Carolyn politely sat at the end of the table during brunch. We then took her to the Aggie Watch Party/the 2nd Half of Beth's Birthday Celebration. At half-time, Beth took all of her frustration towards the Aggie's out on Carolyn. Upon breaking her half, Carolyn left us mini-bottles of alcohol, beer salt and candy!
Good Bye Carolyn

The Aggie game was a stressful one, but in overtime we came out victorious. A stressful game makes Aggies go crazy. Phil put Carolyn on his head, we consumed all of the mini-bottles, made promises to one another (mostly involving unborn children), and then went out to the bars. It was a great night!

The next morning, Josh and I ran errands. One of the main stops was at Costco. For the amount of meat we bought, I think people thought we owned a Barbecue restaurant. I spent the rest of the day napping, playing with Walter, doing laundry and eating.

We also watched Divergent. Did you read the books? I thought they left out a good amount of things in the movie, but for the most part it was ok. The love story cracked me up though. Hunger Games will always beat Divergent in my opinion. Four might be hot but Peeta is a winner. #HungerGamesForever

Today is Daddy Mike's Birthday. He is by far the best Daddy in the world, and I am so blessed to have him as my own. Walking down the aisle on his arm will always be one of my most cherished memories, and I am so thankful for him. I love you Daddy and Happy Birthday!

Another one of my favorites...thank you Rachael!
