Studio Tour

For the past 9 months, I have lived in an old studio apartment that I affectionately call my "bungalow" or the "postage stamp". This was my first experience living alone and I loved it. Don't get me wrong. I missed having a buddy (aka Alycyn) to watch Sex and the City and order Chinese takeout with.  But, I enjoyed having a few months of solitude before jumping into married life and gaining a roommate FOREVER :)

With roughly 17 days until the wedding, I have started to pack up and move out of my tiny place. While I was there for less than a year, I will have fond memories of my one room chateau.
Let me show you around:

This is the view when you first walk through the door. You can pretty much see the whole place! Haha!

Take a few short steps and you will find my living room, dining room and entertainment area. My studio is roughly 400 square feet. However, it has TONS of natural light and storage space which made it standout as the winner when I was apartment hunting.

This was the first piece of art I ever purchased at Eastern Market. I still love it, but, I think Josh will object if I hang it in our future living room.

My itty bitty kitchen....I love to cook, but with the lack of counter-space and an oven that turned the studio into a sauna, I didn't do much of it in this space. Most of my meals while living here consisted of sushi takeout and smoothies.

I did drink a good amount of wine in here though...

and coffee.

One of my favorite photographs from the Middleburg Christmas Parade. It hangs in the kitchen and it makes me smile every morning while I am pouring that first cup of French Roast.

View of the "postage stamp" from just off the kitchen.

Despite not having any windows, my bathroom has great lighting. A consistent theme.

I love beauty products!

This is my first closet and it connects the main room to the bathroom.

This is the view from the closet. GMA is on. I am a loyal viewer.

The second closet is right by the front door. Lots of storage space for such a tiny place!

Another painting from Eastern Market that hangs near the studio entrance. Alycyn gave this to me last year. We had a similar one hanging in our old apartment and she knew how much I loved it.

My nightstand filled with some of my favorite things: books, pictures of my handsome man, my gold piggie bank, and my turquoise pumpkins.

Final view from near the TV. Such a comfy and inviting bed!

There you have it.
My little bungalow.
The next place I live will be a lot less girly/pink so it was nice to have my last space bursting with femininity.

What do you think?

Have you ever lived alone?

What does your home look like?

  1. Super cute! Only thing I object to is GMA. Today4Life

    1. Haha when we live in our duplexes next to one another we will have to separate during the morning hours to watch our respective shows ;) Love you Alisa! Can't wait to see you!

  2. SO cute! I would expect nothing less from you! Love the DC painting, so pretty.

    1. Thank you Frannie! I have loved living there, and Eastern Market has incredible art!
