Weekend Recap: 68 Days Till the Big Day

It is funny, but on certain days I feel like Josh and my wedding will NEVER get here. Yet then there are days/weekends like this past one where there are several reminders that the big day is just around the corner...68 days away to be exact!

Friday night started with one of those reminders when we arrived home to find another gift on our stoop! It is funny how excited I get to open up boxes full of pots and pans. The 8-year-old me would have thought I was crazy! Who wants a pot when you can have an toy or something fun? The 29-year-old me actually!

Later that evening I walked the pups (we were dog sitting) and then we ordered Chinese delivery. Sooner or later, I need to remember that 68 days is really not that much time, and I should start my "eating healthy till the wedding" plan. Maybe tomorrow on day 67 ;)

The next morning, we got up for a beast of a WOD. Like I have mentioned in my gazillion posts about CF, one of my favorite things about the sport (yes, I consider it a sport) is that you can truly see yourself get stronger. Two years ago I wouldn't have been able to deadlift 85 pounds much less squat clean it and then get it overhead. Now it is almost easy...well not easy but I can do it!

Later that afternoon, Josh and I went shopping for our wedding bands. I am the type of shopper that likes to look at everything before I make a decision and this was no different. We went to one store twice and several others before I narrowed it down to two potential rings. With the help of some iPhone pics, I was able to make the final decision this morning and I love it!
My handsome groom! Josh also narrowed it down to two rings before making his final selection.
After all that shopping and Mass that evening, Josh and I made some tacos and enjoyed a "dressed" Dos Equis. This is my favorite way to drink a beer. You squeeze lime juice all over the neck of the bottle and then add it in the beer. Then cover all the juice with beer salt. Nom nom nom! Delicious. I am so glad I stocked up beer salt the last time I was home in South Texas.

Sunday was one of my favorite events, the Texas State Society's Annual Father's Day Picnic. It is held on a farm near Gaithersburg, Maryland and there is barbecue, zip-lining, two-stepping, live music, cotton candy and a Softball tournament. Oh and lots of Shiner Bock! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day and I ate my weight in both beef and spun sugar.

Josh's softball team won the tournament for the 6th year in a row! Talk about a dynasty :)

It was a great weekend and the only thing that would have made it perfect would have been hanging out with my Daddy!

Happy Father's Day Daddy! You are hands down the best Daddy in all the lands, and I love you so much!
Thank you for being incredible!

How was your weekend?
