Bachelorette Party Weekend Recap #OMVBach

Two weeks ago, Beth, Emily, Lanie and I left the monsoon that was DC (it really was a monsoon; both Lanie and Beth's houses flooded) and we flew down to Sunny South Texas! When picking the location for the party, I knew without a doubt that I wanted to go home to South Texas specifically South Padre Island. I love where I grew up and never miss a chance to get back to my roots. SPI was always our vacation destination when I was young, and I was excited for all of my friends to see where I come from.
Monsoon Rain...happy to leave this mess

The East Coast group landed in McAllen on Friday afternoon, my Mommasita picked us up (it isn't a party without Toni), and we made our way to the coast. The Dallas/Abilene crew was already on the island setting up our incredible beach house with decorations and shopping for food and booze. The first thing we did was pop the champagne (which we poured in our cute cups Robley had made) and walk along the beach until the rest of the girls that were driving in arrived. The weather was FANTASTIC. South Texas normally hits the 100 degree mark in May, but the whole weekend was in the high 70s/low 80s and perfect.  That evening we hung out at beach house, grilled fajitas, drank wine and played Cards Against Humanity. Toni thought it was the most BOOOORRRING game ever but in actuality it is really fun and pretty risque. A low key night was definitely needed since I only have one "hardcore" night in me these days.

The next morning we woke up early and got the party started. First we had brunch (with lots of mimosas) at The Palm which is one of favorite spots on the island. It is right on the beach and the food is awesome. Later we hit up the beach for some fun in the sun. Like I mentioned above the weather couldn't have been better.
Our waiter at The Palm was so much fun!

That night we got all dolled up for a night on the town, but first the girls surprised me with a lingerie shower. Bow Chica Wow Wow is all I can say! These ladies hooked me up for Josh and my honeymoon. After all of the gift opening and beach time, we worked up an appetite and dined at another one of my favorite SPI spots, Gabriella's, for dinner.
Kiowas and our lone Tonk. We missed you Randi, but your gift definitely was the hit of the night!
Playing a game to see how well I know Joshua...I didn't do as well as I thought I would because he gave some tricky answers ;)

We carb loaded for a night of drinking, and then made our way to the beach bar my mom suggested. It was perfect! Not only did they have a great live band, but they put up with all of my antics since I kept trying to get on stage. I won't go into too many details but the night consisted of lots of dancing, even more shots, and making some new Border Patrol Agent friends. It was honestly one of the best nights of my life (even with the massive hangover the next morning), and I am so thankful for all of my friends. Throughout the weekend I kept getting teary eyed because I was just so grateful for all of the love and support I have in my life. #sothankful
Sisters!!! You're next Sam :)

The next morning we were all feeling a bit rough but my Daddy was driving to meet us in McAllen for lunch. I can't come to South Texas without seeing him and all of the girls felt the same. So everyone packed up there things despite the nausea, headaches and for some the additional hour it added on their drive. We made our way to my favorite Mexican restaurant in McAllen, Rosita's. I was so excited to see my Daddy and he was even more excited to see all of us. We rehashed the night for him and he laughed along with us as we remembered all of the shenanigans. #hotmess is spot on!

The East Coast girls said our goodbyes to all of the other girls at the restaurant so that we could head to the airport to catch our plane. I got one more picture with my Dad before boarding the plane. It was so good to see him even though it was just for a short time. Again, so blessed to have such amazing parents.
We both got emotional when saying goodbye. Leaving home only gets harder.

We left South Texas exhausted and swearing off alcohol for awhile. However, we also left with even more memories and great stories. In all of my thoughts of what my bachelorette party could be I never could have imagined how much fun it actually was. It was PERFECT and the best one I have ever been too. Even more of an added bonus that it was my own ;)

Thank you so much to all of my friends (specifically Robley and Lanie) for all of the planning and organizing. It was incredible and I cherish all of your friendships more than you could ever know.

Now save your livers and get ready to party even harder in 80 days :)

Wedding Wednesday
