Weekend Recap: Girl Time

Josh went to Texas this past weekend so I was a single lady. I got the weekend started with the CrossFit Open and 14.4. It did not go how I wanted (far from it). More on that later in the week, but in an attempt to cheer myself up I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and treated myself to these...
Flowers make me happy
...and then devoured this...

The next morning, I took my bruised ego back to CrossFit and knocked out a Saturday WOD. It made me feel better and loosened up my tight muscles.
Finished in 14:50 Rx
After my 2nd WOD in less than 14 hours, I treated myself to a big breakfast and then cleaned my apartment. At about 2pm, Lanie picked me up for a day date and it was fantastic. Not only did I get a lot of one on one time with one of my favorite people ever, but we also did some fun things. First we went and saw August: Osage County. We both LOVED it. The movie is very intense and not at all happy, but the acting was phenomenal...very real life. I was blown away by Meryl Streep but Julia Roberts was the real star. I highly suggest seeing it. After the movie we did a little shopping and then had a dinner full of conversation at Cava! I love my Lanie!

The next morning, I lounged in bed with coffee and watched CBS Sunday Morning. It is quite possibly my favorite tv show. Later, I met up with Beth for even more coffee and some pancakes at Eastern Market. I have a goal of rediscovering/re-falling in love with DC this spring, and I kicked it off on Sunday. The Blue Bucks pancakes in the market are notorious and well worth the hype! I had forgotten how great they really are. After devouring the fluffy cakes, we walked around the flea market. Later in the afternoon, we met up with Lanie and Emily for some window shopping in Georgetown and then had an early dinner at 2Amy's. This is another place that I hadn't been to in ages....and dang, it is delicious! We drank bubbly red wine, feasted on pizza and just talked. I love great conversation and it is never lacking when I am with my friends.
That selfie at the bottom was the best we could get....heads chopped off but we were happy! Very thankful for my friends!

The weekend ended and hit it's finest point when I picked up Josh from the airport!

How was your weekend?

Do you have any suggestions for me and my quest to rediscover DC?
