Weekend Recap: A Whole Lotta of Nothing

This weekend all I wanted to do was be a hermit, and I was successful. Sometimes you just need a few days of no obligations to get mentally relaxed and ready to go for all of the craziness life throws at you. This weekend I was able to do just that and some!

It got kicked off with a date night with my handsome man. We started off the evening with an Italian dinner at a little hole in the wall restaurant near the movie theater in Josh's new neighborhood.

After stuffing our bellies (the food was phenomenal), we went and saw Lone Survivor. If I could only choose one word to describe this movie it would be POWERFUL. Go see it now! As cheesy as it sounds, I already felt close to the men portrayed in the movie because of the Hero WODs we do in crossfit. However, nothing prepared me for the impact the movie would make on me. I have always held our armed forces in the highest regard, but after seeing that movie, I will hold them even higher. I am so thankful for the sacrifices our military men/women and their families make daily and I will be forever in their debt. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! I think the next time Murph is the WOD I will be crying my eyes out throughout the whole workout. (I also cried my eyes out through most of the movie.) Powerful!

The next morning Josh and I went to CF to get our workout on, and I was still thinking of that movie.
My partner and I finished with 5 +17 Rx.
It was FREEZING outside and every time I had to go out the door for the run I was miserable. However I was so glad I did the WOD and so thankful that I am able to do it. My last reference to the movie I swear, but so many times we take the little things for granted. I am so thankful that I live in a country where I am free to run in freezing temperatures if I choose to and be in a crazy workout cult (what some people call CF) if I want to.

After the WOD, Josh and I refueled with some breakfast and then spent the rest of Saturday running errands!

On Sunday, I spent most of my day holed up in my new studio organizing and getting settled. The number one thing I need to purchase though are some shades. The little place gets sooooo much sunshine (which I love) but I honestly have to wear my sunglasses in there on a bright day!

After church that evening, Josh rewarded all of my hard work with some Mexican food! Nom nom nom!

We had the day off yesterday. Yay for a long weekend. What better way to celebrate some extra free time then with a good WOD:

This workout was long and hard. It took me 39:43 Rx minutes to complete it, and I was exhausted when it was over. It hurt so good!

Toes to Bar...Oh how I wish I could kipp you

I spent the rest of the day doing laundry, and then Josh and I feasted on this bird last night. It was a great day!
