I need your help...give a girl some advice please!

I have a problem.

It pops every year once cooler weather hits.

You see, I have long hair...

...and in the winter, I get sooooo cold. So I like to bundle up with lots of sweaters, coats and scarves.

However, the problem with long hair and scarves/all other things that keep your neck warm is that by noon my hair goes from looking smooth and straight to this...

Well, not exactly like this, but pretty close. I get the largest knots at the nape of my neck. All of the hair back there gets completely ratted up as a result of rubbing on my scarves and sweaters all day. One time I went to a happy hour at the end of the day and only my front strands were straight. All of the rest of my hair looked like I tried to make some crazy up do. Not the case! Don't even make me get into what it is like trying to untangle the mess. It is horrible!!!

Does anyone have this problem?

Have you found a solution?

My hair and I need help!

  1. When I had long hair I always had to make sure my hair was out on top of the scarf, not bundled up under the scarf-ness. It got staticy from time to time, but never knotted.

  3. Girl, I feel you. Not only do I have long hair, it is in spiral curls :/ I haven't really found a cure, but I find that using lightweight gel or argan oil hydrates the hair and makes it a * little * less likely to tangle up near my neck. This works better for curly haired people, so not sure if it would work out for your straight hair? If I wear a coat or sweater, I have dreads by the end of the day! :)
