Weekend Recap: Snatching, Humping, and Harry Potter

As I mentioned Friday, this weekend was the weekend all Aggies have been waiting for...the Texas A&M vs Bama football game! I had a massive headache on Friday so my evening consisted of sitting on the couch and Josh taking care of me. He is the best!

On Saturday morning, I felt so much better...plus it was Game Day! Josh and I got completely decked out in our maroon gear and headed to CrossFit. The WOD was brutal, and started with HEAVY deadlift and ended with snatches! Woo. It took it all out of me, but we both crushed it!
Part A:
AMRAP 12 minutes
25 Double Unders
8 Deadlifts (255/180)
8 KB Swings (1.5/1)

Rest 2 minutes, then:
Part B:
3 Rounds
400m Run
6 Hang Power Snatch (135/95)

I did part A Rx, and Part B I used 75 pounds for the snatch.

We left CF soaked in sweat, but pumped for the game. After a quick shower, we gathered all of our Bloody Mary ingredients, picked up some breakfast tacos, and headed to our friends Emily & Phil's house. Kick Off was at 3:30pm, and until the Aggies took the field we drank, ate, and talked football.

Unfortunately the Aggies didn't come out victorious over Alabama. However, I was really proud of how we played, and Johnny Football proved yet again that he deserved that Heisman!

After the game, I drove to the airport to pick up my cousin Yale and his new wife Kelly. They were stuck in DC overnight for a layover after their honeymoon. It was such a treat to get some extra time with the new couple, and their honeymoon sounded fantastic! Congrats again you two!

Sunday was a lazy day for Josh and me. I was exhausted from the day before (Aggie Football can take it out of you) and spent most of the day lounging. That evening after church, Josh, Alycyn and I went to see "Potted Potter" which is a satirical play that compiles all seven Harry Potter books into a 70 minute play. It was HILARIOUS, and if you are a HP fanatic then it is a must see!

SPOILER ALERT: I ended the weekend by watching the Miss America pageant, and let me tell you I have not lost my pageant skills because I totally picked Miss New York as the winner. She was poised, articulate, beautiful, and I loved her!
