Weekend Recap: A Weekend of Tastings

I was a single lady this weekend. Whenever this happens, I love to have absolutely no plans! I got things off to a great starts with CF right after work. We did some Snatch Deadlift work and then a thruster workout.

After getting my sweat on, I went to the grocery store, went home, started some laundry, and then cooked up some grub. The rest of the night was spent on the couch with some wine and my remote controls.

The next morning, I went back to CF for a Hero WOD:

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Edwardo Loredo, 34, of Houston, Texas, assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, was killed on June 24, 2010 in Jelewar, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He is survived by his wife, First Sergeant Jennifer Loredo; his daughter, Laura Isabelle; his stepdaughter, Alexis; and his son, Eduardo Enrique.

6 Rounds
24 Air Squats
24 Pull Ups
24 Lunges
400m Run

There was a 40 minute time cap for the WOD. I started out with no bands for the pullups at first, and then went to a purple, to a red, and then to both purple and red. Pullups take it out of me. I got 5 rounds plus 24 air squats before the time cap, and I was happy with that. Still need to work on those pullups though.

This was at the end when I was struggling despite using two bands. #stillsore

Following my sweatfest, I hopped in the shower and met my lady loves for some wine and cheese tasting at Cheesetique. I love CHEESE!!!!

There was a glimmer of sunshine when we finished our tasting. We made an immediate beeline to the pool to soak up the rays. It had been raining pretty much all week, and my skin was thankful for some vitamin D. Never fear though. I still had on SPF 50...this girl burns.

That night, I enjoyed some fine dining and excellent company at my friend Brian's. He invited a group of us from CrossFit over for drinks and the best short ribs I have ever had. There were both Paleo and Non-paleo  food options, lots of non-paleo drinks supplied, and tons crossfit conversation. I was in Heaven. Brian, we are all ready for the next invite :)
We are a good looking bunch!

Sunday, I had brunch with my lady loves and two handsome gents, and then we went to Port City Brewing Company for some beer tasting. Our friend Chase was also the musical entertainment, and he put on an excellent show. The beers were quenched my thirtst too. I loved the "Derecho."

The grand finale of the weekend was picking Josh up from the airport. I am so happy to have him back!

How was your weekend?
