Exciting News...

I love to workout and anything health/fitness related. For the last few years I have known that I would love to turn something this passion into a profession. After consulting several friends/fellow bloggers, I have finally taken the jump and decided get my group exercise certification. My goal is to study for the test throughout August and then take my final exams right after Labor Day. Woo hoo! I will keep you all updated. 

Until then, here is a Fabulous Fitness Survey I found on one of my favorite blogs, A Glimpse of the Gouglers. Amy from AGG is actually the lovely lady who pointed me in the right direction for my certification. Thanks Amy!!!

Fabulous Fitness Survey

1. What did you eat for breakfast?
Kashi Blueberry Crunch Cereal and a Large Coffee with 2% Milk

2. How much water do you drink in a day?
I would roughly guesstimate at least 10 cups. I have a large blue cup that I fill up throughout the day.

3. What is your current favorite workout?
CROSSFIT! I can talk about it all day every day. 

4. How many calories do you eat in a day?
Roughly 1600 a day on the weekdays. I didn't set this number on purpose, but it seems to be my natural inclination to hit this number. I eat everything I want in moderation, and if there is a day or two where I feel like I have really treated myself then I cut back for the few. It is now such a habit that I don't even notice when I cut back. I like to eat healthy, I like the way it makes me feel, but I also love chocolate, pizza and red wine. 

5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?
half an avocado, fresh fruit, almonds, Lara Bars (Cherry Pie Flavor), dried cherries, dark chocolate

6. What do you usually eat for lunch?
My lunch during the week is almost ALWAYS leftovers from my dinner the night before.

7. What is your favorite body part to train?
Arms! CrossFit has definined my arms like no other fitness routine. I love pushups and handstand pushups.

8. What is your least favorite body part to train?
Not a body part, but my least favorite movement is deadlift. Ugh.

9. What are your bad food cravings? 
Greasy Chinese, Ice Cream, Pizza, French Fries, and Sour Candy like Sour Patch Kids

10. Do you take vitamins or supplements?
Nope...but I need to...I want to start taking vitamins again and maybe a magnesium supplement.

11. How often do you eat out?
It depends on the week, but normally I eat at home as much as possible. Usually I will have one meal out on the weekends and one meal out at lunch during the week.

12. Do you eat fast food?
Never. It is not around my neighborhood and limited access means limited consumption. When I do eat fast food it is usually Subway or Chipotle, and when I am in Texas, I have Whataburger as a treat. I will also order Pizza every now and then, but it is from a Mom & Pop restaurant so I don't consider it fast food...maybe I am rationalizing maybe not :) 

13. Who is your biggest supporter?
My funny, handsome, and sweet boyfriend Josh. Not only is he supportive but he pushes me to be my best too. Although I love that he is my cheerleader, I love it even more that he does not let me settle for mediocrity. 

14. Do you have a gym membership?
I have two. I have a membership at my Box for CrossFit. It is good for 13 WODs a month as well as unlimited yoga and Olympic Weightlifting classes. For days that I am not at CF, I have a normal gym membership. I am contemplating getting rid of it, but I love my spin class there. Hopefully with my new fitness certification I can get a job there and get compensated with a membership (some extra bones wouldn't hurt either). Fingers crossed.

15. How many hours do you get sleep a night?
I really try to get 7-8. However if I am doing a 5:30am WOD, it is usually closer to 6-7. 

16. Do you have a cheat day?
On the weekends, I am definitely more lax, but I don't go nuts. If I do go a little overboard I cut back a bit later in the week. Life is about being spontaneous and enjoying things. I found when I was too rigid I just set myself up for failure. 

17. Do you drink alcohol?
Does a fish need water?

18. Do you workout alone?
Before CF, I only worked out alone. I did not like having to worry about anyone else. However, CF is so social, and I love going to workouts with Josh. I can't wait to get him back in the box once his foot is completely healed. 

19. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a healthy lifestyle?
Several years ago whenever I overate, didn't workout, or didn't like the way I looked, I would rip myself a part. I was so hard on myself, and I didn't event realize it. I had always thought I had good self esteem but deep down I didn't. I still have days when I get down on myself, but they are few and far between. Elle Woods had it right when she said:

20. What was the last healthy thing you did today?
I ate half an avocado about an hour ago as my afternoon snack. Yum!
