CrossFit Leader Board

After every WOD in CrossFit we write our "score" for the day on a dry erase board. The "score" can be anything from the number of rounds you completed to how long a certain WOD took you. Then at the end of the day all of the scores are compared and the "leader board" is posted on the website.

This Wednesday, the WOD was very running intensive. After a warmup, we got down to business:

800m Run Conditioning Test
5 Rounds
400m Run
10 Push Press (75/55)
10 Front Squats (75/55

I ran the 800m in junior high and high school. I hated it then and I still do to this day. It is just long enough to be too long and just short enough to require you to sprint. I decided to give it my all and finished with burning lungs and a beating heart...but I did it.

After about 3 minutes rest, we started the next part of the workout. I was feeling strong and decided to really push myself. On each of the 400m, I concentrated on good form and breathing. I used it almost as a break to catch my breath after the weight lifting aspect. For both the push press and squats, I tried to never set the bar back down on the floor. Resting it on my chest allowed me to save time and energy.

When I finished the WOD, I was SPENT, but I felt good and was proud of my time. I finished in the middle of the pack but everyone in front of me had been I felt happy and THIRSTY. Haha!

That night, Josh called me with great news...I made the LEADER BOARD! Not only was this my first time to make this infamous board, but I also ended up making it for the 800m run too!

Talk about an endorphin high!

I love CrossFit! When you find an exercise you love it is so much easier to get out of bed when that alarm is going off or go for a quick run on a Sunday afternoon. Working out makes me feel good and that is why I do it.

Now to quote the oh so insightful Elle Woods:

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't.

What is your favorite form of exercise?

Happy Friday!!!!
