Library Card...

I am about to be out of town for the next three weekends in a row. So this weekend I did not want to have any plans. None. Zilch. Nada! I completely succeeded!

On Friday, Josh and I ordered Chinese Food and were bums. We ordered from a new place called Fusion Grill on 8th Street and it was the bomb diggity.
Szechuan Chicken and Hunan Beef

The next day we went to CrossFit bright and early. I didn't want to go because it was pouring down rain, but as always I was happy that I went. This WOD required running 400's while wearing a backpack that had weights in it. The only backpack I have is my lime green one from Camp Mystic and it can only hold about 10 lbs on a good day. So I just ran carrying the weights...and it was horrible. Haha! Probably one of the worst WODs ever because I was in so much pain...the good kind though. Gots to feel the burn!

AMRAP 25 minutes
5 Barbell Complex (155/115) (Deadlift + Hang Power Clean + Front Squat + Shoulder-to-Overhead)
20 KB Swings (1.5/1)
400m Run with plate in backback (35/25 plate)

After the WOD and breakfast, we just drank coffee and lounged for a while at Josh's place. At about noon, sweet Beth came over to hangout by the pool. It was cloudy and not at all sunny, but we enjoyed catching up on everything that was going on in each other's lives.

Later that afternoon Beth dropped me off at my house and I did some housekeeping and laundry. I was feeling a bit bored at about 4pm (sometimes I am not good at laid back weekends...even when I want them) so I decided to go check out the neighborhood public library. I have lived only one block from the public library for over 4 years now, but I have never stepped foot in the building. To give myself credit, I can checkout books from the Library of Congress because of my job. So I have never needed to. Well on Saturday, I ventured over, applied for a library card, and then spent the rest of the afternoon browsing. It is a small library, but I was still able to make it out with some great finds.
I am rereading Harry Potter, and I have never read To Kill A Mockingbird. The Starter Wife is going to be a pool read :)

Later that evening Josh and I made a pasta dinner and watched the movie 50/50 which was so good. Hands down one of the best movies I have seen recently. I know I say that pretty often, but in all seriousness it was amazing. It was funny and serious all at the same time. CHECK IT OUT!

On Sunday, I was pretty lazy again and went to the pool. Later Josh and I went to Home Depot and bought him a new smoker which we decided to use IMMEDIATELY.  While Josh put the smoker together, I made a Peruvian chicken rub for our Beer Can Chicken. The rub consisted of chipotle peppers in adobe sauce, cumin, salt, garlic powder, chili powder and lots of cilantro. After smoking it for about an hour and half, the chicken came out succulent and juicy. It also had lots of flavor!

It was a great weekend. I feel refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for the next few weeks ahead of me.
