Weekend Recap: Happy Hour, Softball, Bikram, and Chicken Tikka Masala

Last weekend started with a stop at 7-Eleven to pick up some Lotto Tickets....the line was not as bad as some places but it was still the longest I have ever had to wait at the store!

I whipped up Josh and I a quick meal (one of my new favorites...recipe to come) and then we headed over to our Crossfit Gym for a happy hour.

We stayed at the HH for about 2 hours and met some really great people. I am loving crossfit! The next morning Josh woke up early for a softball tournament. The tournament was raising money for a local family who lost their dad/husband right before Christmas. He played in the same local softball league as Josh's team.

I lounged in bed while Josh played his first game, watched some Saved By The Bell, and then met up with the team to watch their 2nd and 3rd games.

After the games, I ate a quick lunch, dropped Josh off for a few more, and then drove his jeep into the city. Alycyn and I had a date to tryout Bikram Yoga. Bikram Yoga is yoga in a heated room. Neither of us had ever tried it and were pretty nervous, but we both ended up LOVING it. Detailed blog on that to come...lots of those promises today :)
Sweaty and red-faced, but INVIGORATED!

After yoga, I dropped Alycyn off at our apartment and picked up Josh from his tournament. The team didn't win, but they had fun and a lot of money was raised for the family. Josh also purchased some raffle tickets for a free night at a local hotel and WE WON!!! Woo hoo.

Josh also WON his weight loss challenge. We decided to celebrate with juicy rib-eyes, a cheese board, and lots of red wine! It was the perfect night.

The next morning Josh made us breakfast and then I went to the grocery store. For the last month, our friends have been taking meals to our friends that just had a baby, and Sunday was my turn. I decided to make them Homemade Chili Mac. I have made it once before, and it is cheesy and addicting.
Recipe found here: Chili Mac

Josh and I dropped off the mac at our friend's house, and then made our way over to church for Mass. We ended up having about an hour to kill so we sat outside for a beer and admired the beautiful spring day.

After church we went back over to his house and had dinner. While making the chili mac, I also started cooking a batch of Chicken Tikka Masala. I currently am LOVING Indian food, and since I cannot eat out I had to make it on my own. This was a slow-cooker recipe so it was ready when we got back from church, and damn was it good! Plus it was super easy.
Recipe to come!

The rest of the evening we caught up on shows (yay for Game of Thrones starting) and got ready for Crossfit the next morning!

Now for a quick new story, Alycyn and I purchased a Groupon for teeth whitening a few months back, and I finally tried it last night. I am in a wedding this weekend so I wanted some pearly whites.

I could only take having that laser in my mouth for 30 minutes...so I don't really see a difference yet...but who cares because....I am...

Have a great weekend everyone and very Happy and Blessed Easter!

And Congratulations to Nancy and Jesse! I am so excited to share your special day with you this weekend!
