Rasika is one of the most talked about restaurants in DC.

Josh and I went for the first time back in December for his Birthday and could not stop thinking talking dreaming about it. So we decided to go again on our Anniversary, and it did not disappoint.

If you live in DC or are coming to visit definitely check it out. Just be prepared to make reservations way in weeks in advance. It is ranked as one of the Top Ten Restaurants in DC and it is definitely worth the extra trouble trying to get into.

Rasika is know for a flash fried spinach appetizer called Palak Chaat. It is considered one of the best dishes in the area. Josh and I had it the first time we dined at Rasika and thought it was incredible too, but for our second experience we decided to try a few new things. Appetizers are my favorite part of the meal.
Kadi Patte Ke Scallops
Curry leaves / garlic / green chilies / lemon rasam
Josh and I both agreed it was the best scallop dish we had ever had and the broth was incredible.
Lamb Kathi Roll
Tandoori lamb / roti / mint chutney
This is our favorite appetizer at the restaurant. Even more so than the Palak Chaat. Blasphemous...I know. But you see it reminds me of an amazing taco...and I am a girl from South Texas...taco trumps spinach any day!

For our main entrees we had the Lamb Roganjosh (left), the Chicken Tikka Masala, and the okra. I did not want to get the Chicken dish at all, but our friend PBarr highly suggested it. Damn was she right! It was spectacular, and since then I have tried to recreate it several times (recipe to come).
Lamb Roganjosh18
Caramelized onions / tomato / garam masala
The lamb in this is so tender and succulent. This dish reminds me of Carne Guisada (another Mexican food reference) but is so much for flavorful.
Chicken Tikka Masala17
National dish of England
Two words: Just DO IT

And of course I never can say no to dessert. We tried two: a sampling of ice creams and a custard.
Both were amazing!
Josh and I enjoyed every minute of our experience the second time as well, and I am already looking forward to the third!

In conclusion, eat at Rasika as soon as possible!

The end!
