Columbus Day Weekend Recap Part 2

After my quick siesta, it was time to get ready for the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony on the steps of Lee's childhood home, and you could truly feel how much the bride and groom loved one another!
I cried like a baby!

After the service we headed to the garden for cocktail hour. I also used this opportunity to snap a few pics of me with my handsome man. Like my dress? I am proud to say I have now re-worn a bridesmaid's dress. That's Right! That is a bridesmaid's dress. Talk about doing good for the environment.
Me, Handsome Man, and the Bridesmaid's dress. Thank you to the Beautiful Lauren Liljenwall Ludwick for picking such a great dress!

After a few drinks, we headed into the Library for dinner. I stuffed my face with cake and then grew a beard!
My name is Ulysses S. Grant!

Unfortunately, my beard did not look nearly as good as his:
Such a happy fellow!

We had a wonderful time at the wedding, and we are blessed to have such great friends in DC. Congratulations Corey and Christi! We love you both so much and wish you all the happiness in the world!

The next morning Josh and I woke up bright and early to go wine tasting in Charlottesville, VA.
Gorgeous Views!

We love Charlottesville. Not only are there hundreds of wineries and great food, but the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. We went to three wineries that day including Veritas, Afton Mountain, and Pollack!
Vino!

After all of that wine, we were starving so we grabbed a tasty dinner at a local restaurant...I can't remember its name though..EEK!
My handsome man! I love him!
Josh's steak...it was amazing! I could eat it now. I got the short rib...just as yummy...but not nearly as photogenic.

After dinner we headed to our hotel to relax. I pretty much passed out the second we walked through the door. The night before I had been scared that our cabin was haunted by Civil War ghosts...so I didn't sleep that well. Safely in a non-haunted Hampton Inn, I slept as hard as a rock. Thus the next morning when we woke up for more wine tasting, I was in need of some Caffeine!
I LOVE STARBUCKS. Dear Starbucks...yes this is a plug/product placement for your coffee. Please feel free to contact me for commercials and what not. Thank you!

We stopped at two more wineries that were on the way back to DC. Both were exceptional! First we went to Keswick Vineyards. It was a gorgeous property and they were right in the middle of harvest.

After purchasing a few bottles and getting a quick tour of the winery, we headed on down to Barboursville Winery. This was my favorite winery of the trip. Their wine tasting is INSANE. You get to taste over 20 wines and I thought all of them were exceptional. We bought a case.
After a quick and very yummy lunch we headed on back to DC.
Incredible Curried Chicken Salad Sandwich
Broccoli and Sausage Soup...definitely going to try to recreate!

We came home with over 37 bottles of wine. I definitely think this deems the weekend a huge success!
