A Capitol Hill Read...

One of my favorite perks to working for a Member of Congress is that I get to check out books from the Library of Congress which is the largest library in the world. I select my books online and like magic they are delivered right to my desk. It is amazing, and I definitely take full advantage. Thus, this brings me to two book reviews. The first is:

Sammy's Hill by Kristin Gore (Al Gore's Daughter)
The narrator of the book is a young, Capitol Hill staffer (LIKE ME) named Sammy. Throughout the book Sammy (our heroine) illustrates the daily drama's of hill life from political scandals and rumors to young love and heartbreak. Kristin Gore is a very entertaining writer and the reader falls in love with Sammy the second you open the book. She is funny, eccentric, and completely relatable. Plus, being a young hill staffer myself, I loved reading about all of my daily stomping grounds. You can also totally see all of the correlations with Kristin Gore's own experiences as a political daughter. I give two, enthusiastic thumbs up! Double Gig 'Em!

Book number two is: Sammy's House by Kristin Gore (the Sequel to Sammy's Hill)
I just started this book last night, but I am already in love with it as well. This book follows Sammy around again....but this time in a new job! I do not want to give too much away, but yet again Kristin Gore is dynamite!

I hope you all check these books out! I simply cannot put them down!
